The challenge
The client required redundant bracketry to be removed from an industrial vessel, followed by targeted inspection of areas where localised stress or cracking was considered possible.
The solution
LRA technicians accessed the locations by rope, removed the specified bracketry and prepared the exposed areas. Magnetic particle inspection was then carried out to identify relevant surface-breaking discontinuities in the ferromagnetic steel.
